Dr. Cooper is a professor of English and Film and Media Studies. He specializes in the emergence and development of U.S. cinema, as well as the contexts, institutions, and visual conventions that surround it. Dr. Cooper also serves as a liaison to the Newsfilm Library and its efforts to both digitize and make its holdings accessible to the public.
